On
July 12th, 2003, Saybrooke held its first Community Clean-up
Day. The event was coordinated by Al Evans, liason for the Saybrooke
Grounds Committee. We had a wonderful turnout from the residents
of our great community. It was challenging; however, in spite of
the very hot and humid weather, our band of merry men and women
would not be denied. We collected over 30 extra large bags of trash
from around the clubhouse, Saybrooke Drive, and Linton Hall Road.
We even found the courage to clean around the pond located on Granary
Rd. The day was a great success! Drinks and donuts were provided
by Michelle's Catering of Bristow, VA.
On
October 4th, the second Community Clean-up Day occurred with the
following homeowners volunteering their time to help keep Saybrooke
beautiful:
Jim
Leckert
Sheri Finocciaro
Ellen Spann
Byran Casey
Debbie Evans
Michelle Lyon
Sally Winkelmann
Al Evans
The
Grounds Committee anticipates the Community Clean-up Day to be a
quarterly event. On the day of the scheduled clean-up, anyone wishing
to help out should meet at the Clubhouse at 8am with lawn and garden
tools, lawn bags, etc. We look forward to seeing you there!
Feel free to email the Grounds Committee at grounds@saybrooke.org
if you'd be interested in volunteering for the next event or to
help out on the committee.
